Adelaide
Voted Australia’s most liveable city, with a population of more than one million, Adelaide is known as the ‘20 minute city’. The airport is only seven kilometres from Adelaide city.

The Adelaide Hills and major beaches are less than half an hour away by car. Stroll along North Terrace and visit the many art galleries and museums. Not far away is the Adelaide Zoo, where you can visit the giant pandas, Wang Wang and Funi.

For those wanting to experience South Australia’s food and wine, a free city tram service operates to transport you to numerous restaurants within the city area. The Adelaide Hills and metropolitan beaches, just 20 minutes drive from Adelaide city, are also hubs of cafés and restaurants.

To get the most out of your time in South Australia and the wine district, head out to the country regions. The Barossa, Clare Valley and McLaren Vale are all just a short drive from Adelaide.

Call for papers and presentations
Research can help influence policy and practice and ensure a better education and training system for all people living in Australia.
NCVER invites practitioners and researchers to share their research and knowledge at the 21st National Vocational Education and Training Research Conference.
NCVER seeks presentations that rely on sound evidence-based research rather than descriptive or opinion-based work.
This can be presented in one of the following ways:
Professional development workshops
Pre-conference workshops will run concurrently on Wednesday 11 July.
The workshops should be interactive and engaging and consist of topics that focus on professional development for researchers and VET practitioners.
We invite proposals for a 60 or 90 minute workshop. Submissions must outline the objective, scope and format of the workshop and be written concisely.
If you would like to run an online workshop, computer labs are available.
Presentations
We are looking for informative, relevant and thought-provoking presentations on research in progress, as well as completed work. We encourage formats that engage the audience.
As part of NCVER’s commitment to building research capacity in the VET sector, we strongly encourage early career VET researchers or established researchers new to the VET sector to present.
Please see below for abstract guidelines.
Refereed papers
For the first time, we are offering refereed papers to be part of the program in addition to standard presentations.
Following submission of your abstract, successful applicants will be required to submit a paper for peer-review by two independent referees and may have your paper considered for publishing.
Abstract guidelines
Please follow these guidelines when submitting a proposal for a PD workshop or an abstract for a standard presentation or refereed paper:
  1. Content should be submitted within an email, i.e. not attached to an email.
  2. Indicate whether you are submitting a PD workshop, presentation or refereed paper at the top of the page.
  3. The title of the proposed presentation or workshop should be concise.
  4. Abstracts and title names should accurately reflect the content of the presentation.
  5. List co-authors and affiliations below the title. Please underline the main author’s name, and mark with an asterisk the name of the presenting author.
  6. Single spacing throughout.
  7. Content, not including the title and author names etc, must not be longer than 300 words in length (abstracts over 300 words will not be considered).
  8. Please include the first and last name of the presenting author, position title, organisation, telephone and email address at the bottom of the submission.
  9. If submitting a proposal for a pre-conference workshop, please ensure you outline the objective, scope and format of the workshop in your submission.
Abstracts that do not follow the above guidelines will not be considered.
